In 2011  Shannon was contacted by author Georganne Fiumara, who was looking for an independent pet sitter to give start-up advice for those who would like to start a pet sitting business.  It was for for a book she was writing for moms who want to work at home that would be published by Globe Pequot Press. The book “How to Start a Home-based Business to Become a Work-At-Home Mom (Home-Based Business Series)”, was publish in 2012 and Shannon was mentioned in the “Top Ten Home-Based Businesses for Mom” section on pages 74-75 “Becoming a Pet Sitter”.
