Shannon’s Marketing Manager Lauren

Although Shannon is obviously very good at marketing & promoting her business, this is another task that is very time consuming & takes her away from pet sitting. Shannon knew whoever did this job had to have the same energy, passion & drive as she did. NOT An easy task! In essence she needed a #1 devoted fan.
Shannon became friends with Lauren Lenartowski on Facebook. Lauren had been posting her photography of the cats at Anderson Animal Shelter in South Elgin.  Shannon absolutely loved  the spirit and essence of each cat’s personality that Lauren captured in her photos. The two soon became online friends & swapped message, photos, comments & jokes.  In 2011 When Lauren set up her own graphic design website “Copy Cat Studios”, Shannon was more than happy to help promote it.  The girls met in person for the first time at the Arlington Race Track Family Pet Expo in 2012. Which was surprising to them, that it actually had taken that long for them to meet face to face.  So of course it was an instant hug! Later that year Shannon was in need of some graphic design work & got in touch with Lauren to see if she was interested in the project. Lauren jumped at the opportunity to work with Shannon. Through working closer together Shannon got to know & like more things about Lauren’s background & personality.  She realized this was the girl for the Marketing job!
Lauren is a graphic designer by trade.  She started in the field in 2006 as a Graphics editor and later attended the Illinois Institute of Art-Schaumburg, graduating in 2010 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design.  After graduating Lauren worked at the Atlas Screen Supply Company and Ambria College of Nursing in their Marketing Departments .  Lauren currently works full time at R.F. Technologies, Inc as their Marketing Coordinator.  Over the years Lauren  has performed  just about every aspect in Marketing which includes: customer service, website maintenance, prepared trade show kits,  Social Media Marketing via Twitter and Facebook, designed flyers, brochures, e-mail blasts, web banners , catalogs, flyers, booklets, direct mail pieces, web graphics and sent out direct mail / mass mailing pieces.

Lauren LOVES Cats!! She & her family are owned by 7 of them! So it’s was no surprise when she started volunteering at Anderson Animal Shelter in South Elgin, IL in 2010. She is is currently a socialization mentor. As one of five to six “cat socialization mentors”, she is in charge of “mentoring” each new volunteer.  She gives them an hour long tour/presentation of “Cat Country”, as it is referred to,  and talk to them about many things, including:

• How to handle a cat & cat body language
• The adoption fees & adoption process at Anderson
• How to socialize with a cat
• How to clean cages
• How to talk to potential adopters

Lauren often enjoys using the shelter cats as her subjects for her photography hobby.  She posts her photos on the Anderson Animal Shelter’s Facebook page to help catch potential pet owners eye.  In March 2012 Lauren was inspired to blog about her experiences as a volunteer and mentor at the animal shelter. Her friend Kathy, who also volunteers at the shelter, started her own blog about her volunteer experiences.  Lauren thought it was a brilliant idea and wondered why she hadn’t thought of doing so herself.  Lauren created” Peace, Love Adopt”,  a blog documenting her life & experiences at the animal shelter. http://www.peaceloveadopt.info/
